Finally finished the new picture for the 52 Week Project!

For this picture, I wanted to build my own miniature bridge. And I did. But it took me so long to do it because I’ve been having a hard time dealing with things. In my head. I haven’t been doing so well but I’m trying to turn that around. There’s also the fact that it’s Ramadan and I almost never have any energy to get anything done. But I’m traveling tomorrow to Egypt for around 10 days and I’m not sure I’ll be able to post anything new (I’ll try) so I really wanted to have something up before I leave.

Here it is, image 11 for the 52 Week Project. Theme: Bridges.

So the plan was to build the bridge, print a picture for the background (shot by my friend, TJ), and take a picture of that. Then shoot the model and composite that in. I also got some shots of the bridge with a white background, just in case I decided to composite the background in as well. When I started editing it I realized that I loved how the picture looked printed then shot with the bridge so I went with that. I had a hard time figuring out depth of field and perspective and it took a few tries to get it to look somewhat realistic.

Here are some BTS pictures of the bridge building, I think it took around 4 hours.










This is one of the images I was experimenting with. I put the bridge on a box just to raise it up a little.

I also tried it with another background.

The editing took a while and I almost wanted to give up on it because I kept thinking there’s no way I’m gonna make this work. I kinda felt bad for being so late with this so I knew that giving up was not an option haha and I’m glad I persevered!
