Please Come Back To Life

Last week’s theme for the 52 Week Project was cemetery. I was really excited to do it but then I realized that I can’t actually visit a cemetery and even if I did, there are no headstones in our cemeteries.
So I thought I’d just do something in our backyard, and I saw some small wood logs lying around so I used those. I still want to do something in a real cemetery one day, but for now this will do. For the background I used one of the pictures I took when I was in Malaysia.
This picture was partly inspired by a song called Circle by Flyleaf.

Please Come Back To Life (20/52)

The compositing for this wasn’t as hard as some of my other pictures, but I thought I’d show you a before/after anyway 🙂

This week’s theme is: long exposure.
Kinda nervous about that because I tried long exposure photography when I was in Malaysia and that didn’t go well. But I’m excited to try again!
I’m also working on two blog posts all about inspiration – what inspires me on a daily basis, and the inspiration behind some of my images! Can’t wait to share that with you guys.

I forgot to mention that my picture, Where Gravity Doesn’t Know My Name, was used for the cover of a novelette called Dead Boyfriends by John Dodds. Grab the ebook from amazon, it’s only 0.99! John also interviewed me for his article on self-publishing, you can check it out here.

I hope you’re all having a lovely day! ❤

  1. I love the way you make composition. The photo explains it self. It’s like an old Italian painting. I’m waiting for your photo exhibit soon. Keep shooting and you inspired me to love photography at its best.

  2. I love this image. I feel it has something of the Japanese horror stories, with female ghosts with manes of black hair hiding their faces. I had to wonder if the figure is actually the ghost of her mortal remains in the grave and is trying to bring herself back to life.
